Tips for Stress Relief

Breathe

It seems like a simple thing, but taking a deep breath can be profound in a stressful situation.
It allows for a pause while a surge of oxygen rushes through the body.

Exercise

Working up a sweat does more than drop calories.
Regular exercise makes us feel more empowered and positive about life.

Stretch

Balancing strength with flexibility is important for a healthy body. Whether it is active stretching after a workout, in a yoga class, or passive stretching received during a massage, stretching allows the muscles and joints a more balanced range of motion.

Meditate

Having regular “quiet time” allows for much needed relaxation. Meditation involves clearing the mind of stressful or negative thoughts to allow room for serenity to bloom.

Aromatherapy

Essential oils are a powerful tool for stress relief. Lavender is well know for its relaxation properties. Applying it to your pulse points or diffusing it into your car can provide immediate stress relief. Peppermint can help you stay calmly alert and focused, which is great for work.

Massaging tension and toxins out of the body not only tones muscles, but also releases pain patterns for a balance and stress-free state. Clients are encouraged to breathe and relax which on the massage table. Our yoga students are able to breathe into gentle yoga stretches. We often use lavender essential oil in our all-natural massage cream to encourage relaxation.
