open level class / Anusara style that ends with restorative yoga
Yoga for everyone is a challenging and relaxing combination of vinyasa (flow) and restorative asana with modifications for all levels inspired by the alignment principles of Anusara. “Trust is cultivated when our words, thoughts and actions are in harmony”. This class is designed to cultivate trust within the self. We practice sometimes challenging positions on the mat so that when challenges show up in our everyday lives, we are well practiced at it.
Ashtanga is a set sequence of classical hatha yoga asanas (poses) and vinyasas (movement combined with specific breathing techniques) that purifies the body as well as the mind. Based in the practice of sun salutations, Ashtanga is vigorous and athletic, while providing a detoxifying, meditative experience. Some yoga experience is a plus but not a requirement, as Ashtanga allows, even beginners, to gain strength, flexibility and focus during this moving meditation.
Kripalu Yoga has been known as the “Yoga for Everybody”. This relaxation, stretching and strengthening class links the breath with the movement and focuses on relaxing the mind. The flow of sequences will start slowly to gently challenge students. Each class will be tailored to meet the student’s needs. This is a multi-level class that every “body” enjoys!
Strengthen, stretch, and relax your body from head to toe! Each class focuses on breathing and correct body alignment, along with strengthening and lengthening of both major and supporting muscle groups for improved tone and flexibility by moving from one series of poses to the next in a flowing manner. This is a multi level class that can help form a solid foundation for beginners as well as be modified to challenge students of all levels.
This Mat Pilates Class focuses on strengthening the “powerhouse”…the core of the body, resulting in better posture and body alignment, improved muscle tone, and flexibility. We will stay true to the basic class format of a traditional mat class, performing specific movements in a series to maximize the effects on the abdominals, back, gluts, chest and shoulders, and stretching for a longer, leaner you. This is a multi level class where those new to pilates can learn the fundamentals and those already practicing can focus on form and precision, adding props for a new challenge.
