MELT Method: Self-Care Class

In this self-care technique class, Indigo’s own Mandy Puett will help you explore the basic principles and techniques of using the MELT foam roller and balls to rehydrate the connective tissue and eliminate stuck stress in your body. Hydrated connective tissue provides better support for muscles, bones, joints, organs, and nerves, so the body naturally works more efficiently from the inside out. Body awareness, alignment, and relaxation all improve almost immediately when you tap into this powerful tissue in the body.

Yin and Restorative Yoga

Join Lindsay Dickes for a beautiful blend of intelligently and deliberately sequenced Yin and Restorative yoga postures designed to support deep relaxation, release tension in the body, and contribute to a self-care practice. Expect a slow and quiet pace with postures held for longer periods of time and effectively paired with breath techniques and guided meditation. The Yin approach uses long holds with passive postures to release tension, increase flexibility, and support energetic flow in the deep connective tissues of the body. The Restorative approach cultivates stillness and calming of the mind and nervous system through passive postures supported by blankets, bolsters and blocks. Woven together in this class, Yin and Restorative postures invite you to settle into sensation and leave you with a deep feeling of calm, grounding and rejuvenation for your week ahead.

Lindsay is a licensed social worker (LMSW) and 200-hour registered yoga teacher (RYT). With over a decade as a yoga practitioner, Lindsay has been teaching yoga, mindfulness, meditation, self-soothing and emotion-regulation skills since 2008. She currently works as a trauma therapist with adolescents affected by interpersonal violence. Lindsay teaches trauma-informed yoga for her teen clients and agency staff. She is currently working on her Yoga Therapy certification through Integrative Yoga Therapy.

Celebrate the Cycle

What have you learned about your monthly cycle? Who did you learn it from? Did you know each cycle has several phases? What was the feeling around your cycle? Often information about women’s’ health is passed from mother to daughter, friend to friend. This is a beautiful relationship but it can lead to issues seeming normal when they’re actually just common. Join us to learn from specialists who will share what a typical cycle looks like, what can impact your cycle, and natural methods to help if something is out of balance.

This celebratory event is friendly for all women in any part of their life-including mothers and daughters who are just starting to or will soon be experiencing their cycles.

$5 per family.
